INDUSTRY SESSION 1: Ahead of the “Cloud” - The Importance of an Innovation Strategy

2011 saw the Cloud become mainstream, entering the consciousness of SMEs with numerous cloud-centric app stores and of mass market consumers with the launch of Apple iCloud, Amazon Music Cloud and Google Music Cloud. There were also major IPOs/ and Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) exits for VC -backed cloud centric companies such as Skype, Linked In, Pandora Carbonite and huge valuation increases for Twitter, Facebook, Zynga and others.

According to Forrester Research, it's wildly popular with startups, exactly fits the way small businesses like to buy things, and has the potential to completely upend IT as we know it… Infrastructure and operations professionals can try to ignore it as it is just in its infancy, but doing so may be a mistake as cloud computing is looking like a classic disruptive technology. Click here for more information.

From entrepreneurs to  investors and corporate strategists, this session will offer something of relevance to a broad range of constituents  Hear Wally Kowal, President, Canadian Cloud Computing Inc. and Mike Grandinetti, Managing Director, Southboro Capital, LLC address a range of real world case studies highlighting the nature of cloud computing, current trends, future opportunities and the importance of clearly defined strategies in order for companies to realize the “promise of cloud computing”.
